Senior Center
The City of South Lake Tahoe Senior Center is an activity center in a fun and supportive atmosphere that brings social, recreational and educational opportunities to the senior population of South Lake Tahoe. The 10,000 sq. ft. facility offers both drop in and scheduled programs, activities and events. The Center has a lending library, lounge, computer lab with free internet access, pool table, ping pong table and various meeting rooms that are available for rent.

Services
Senior Legal Services for residents of El Dorado County 60 years or older regardless of income is available at the Senior Center the first Tuesday of each month. Call (530) 621-6154 to schedule an appointment. Activities at the Senior Center include: Painting class, line dance class, exercise class, bridge groups, bingo, dominoes group, and various support groups. Call for more information. The Senior Center also offers free transportation in South Lake Tahoe for Senior Citizens. This service runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. To schedule a ride call the Senior Center. Volunteer drivers are also needed, if you would like to volunteer 3 - 4 hours one day per week please give us a call. You do not need to be a senior to be a volunteer driver. AARP MATURE DRIVING classes are starting in May. There are currently 4 one day classes scheduled: May 12, June 9, July 14 and August 11. Each class runs from 8:30 - 5:00 with a 1 hour lunch break. Sign up for one of these classes today. The cost is $12.00 for AARP members and $14.00 for non AARP members. Call the Senior Center for more information. Big Band DancesBig Band Dances are held at the Senior Center and all ages are invited to attend. The 17 piece Tahoe Dance Band performs from 7:30 - 10:00 and admission is only $8.00. Admission includes wine, appetizers, desserts and door prizes. It is not necessary to bring a partner. Dance dates for 2009 are: June 26, July 31, August 28, September 25, October 23, November 20 and December 18. Helpful Links
