Become a Camp Host

Campground HostThank you for your interest in our volunteer camp host program. Our campground is located across the street from beautiful Lake Tahoe and 2 ½ miles from the excitement of the Nevada casinos. We are looking for couples to volunteer 14 hours per person, per week doing a variety of duties including working at the gatehouse, selling firewood, picking up litter, and checking the restrooms.

Our camp hosts are the "eyes and ears" of the campground. We will provide in exchange for the volunteer time a free campsite that has electricity and water, and we have a "honey wagon" on site for the volunteers to use.

We offer a range of time slots during our camp host season, which runs from May through September. The dates and positions will vary due to availability. We do require a current driver’s license, but you may be asked for a DMV printout and/or drug test depending on what position you are placed in. If you are an out-of-state volunteer, you may want to bring your DMV print-out with you. The city will arrange and pay for any required drug test. (The first one is on us, but if you have to take it again, it’s on you.)

If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to call Susan Kezich at (530) 542-6096 or contact us . We appreciate your interest and time, and we look forward to working with you in the future.

Thank you!
